Why Are We Out of Balance?
There is so much commotion these days especially due to the virus pandemic. This is in addition to the already innumerable pressures of today’s society. Is it no wonder that we are more stressed out these days than ever before? Is it no wonder that fast food takes the place of home-cooked meals due to lack of time? There is so much to be done and there seems to be so little time to get these things done. Many of us got caught in a cycle of “keeping up with the Joneses”.
What Happens When We are Unbalanced?
What happens as we continue to repeat our hectic lives without reflection? It’s easy to get sidetracked. It could mean we don’t exercise or get outdoors as much, or we sometimes neglect our loved ones and families. Society and others can give us advice that is harmful for us as an individual. We strive to do our best. We all need to work and provide for our families yet without balance in our lives everything we strive to do can backfire on us.
If we neglect our health and fitness it can lead to devastating, debilitating illness and costly medical bills. How effective are we then? Too much relaxation can lead to laziness and lack of funds to provide for our loved ones. An effective, fulfilled person needs balance.
I’ve been on my own mission for decades seeking to stay centered and balanced. It all started when I saw a lovely woman I was working with age 10 years in just 1 year due to stress she put upon herself. Others I saw fall ill before their time. Thus began my journey and I wish to share some insights with you.
Tips and Points to Ponder
Tip 1: Know what is important to you. Don’t let anything keep you from spending time on the important, can’t live without things, that makes life meaningful.
Tip 2: Know who you are and stay true to you and your uniqueness. This takes time for you have to dig deep and find out what really brings you joy and what gifts and abilities you have to offer.
Tip 3: It’s ok to say no to time wasters and time stealers that take your time away from Tip #1.
If there is one good thing that has happened during this pandemic it’s the fact that we all had to slow down a bit and reflect on what’s important to us. Do you need to make a change for the better?
